Paget's Disease Of Bone: First Recorded Case From Central India With Review Of Diagnosic Imaging Modalities

Abstract :
Pagets disease of the bone has been described extensively from the Western counties. However, the Indian data is scarse. Moreover, no cases have been reported from central India. We present an Index case from a central Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and review the imaging modalities. Radigraphy forms the mainstay of diagnostic tools. The disease passes through the stages of lysis, mixed and sclerotic states. The cardinal features of this disease are bone expansion, cortical thickening, trabecular thickening. Polyostotic involvement exceeds the mono-ostotic disease. Cros sectional modalities including CT and MRI scans are only adjunct to the Radiography.
